When we read about this heroic feat of kindness, we often do not truly absorb its reality. Rather, we read over it and often take it for granted for such a holy act of love. Found also in the Fifth Station of the Stations of the Cross, we get a devout look into the agonizing moment our Lord, beaten and exhausted, took assistance from one of the onlookers.
